The Sally Gap, County Wicklow

The Sally Gap drive takes you from east to west, along the Wicklow mountains and offers some of the most beautiful mountain and lake views you will find away from the coast. This drive is also reachable from Dublin, so a great way to escape the busy city for a while. On the R759 head east along the mountains and then go north on the R115 to finish the loop.

Galway to Clifden to Westport

Slicing through the region of Connemara, this way will take you into the mountains and reward you with stunning coastal views as you head to Clifden. Once you’ve arrived at Clifden, you then go back down to Westport, where you will pass the Doolough Valley and some pretty, tranquil lakes along the way.

The Inishowen 100, Donegal

This route takes you along the coast’s most Northerly point, stopping at Malin Head and you’ll find it’s mostly a pretty, coastal drive. Beginning in Muff, take the coastal road to Moville and drive through the Malin Head loop and down to Burnfoot village. An absolutely spectacular drive, you will have many opportunities to stop along the way to take in all the sights and sounds.

Sheep’s Head Peninsula, Bantry – Durrus, Cork

This route begins in Bantry and rings around the Sheep’s Head Peninsula, ending in Durrus, near to where you started. It takes in the whole of the Peninsula, offering you fantastic ocean views on both sides along the way. It may only be 40km long, but the journey is packed full of beautiful scenery and Irish charm.

The Burren Beauty, Clare

This drive will take you to the north-west corner of Clare that overlooks Galway Bay and the Atlantic. Beginning at Kilfenora, this drive will take across Lisdoonvarna and up the coast to Black Head. The route will loop back down and take you through Carran. Here you are surrounded by ocean and rugged Burren terrain.

Giant’s Causeway Coast, Northern Ireland

This 190km long journey will take you on an amazing trip around many of Northern Ireland’s biggest tourist attractions. Beginning in Belfast, you’ll head along the Northern coast, and enjoy the Giant’s Causeway, the Bushmills distillery and the seaside towns of Portstewart and Portrush.
