Volvo’s long-reigning flagship saloon, the S90, faces a challenge from a new contender. Details leaked from the automaker’s headquarters suggest an upcoming model, currently known only by its codename V551. It could potentially replace the S90 and if Volvo follows its current naming conventions it may be called the Volvo ES90.

According to Swedish outlet Teknikens Värld, Volvo’s paperwork in China suggests the ES90 will enter full production in May 2024, likely starting deliveries in 2025.
