Porsche ups the ante on its electric Macan with two new variants boasting extended range and exciting performance. The base Macan and the Macan 4S offer a compelling combination of efficiency, power, and features, making the electric Macan line-up more versatile than ever.

New Trims and Pricing Breakdown

The entry-level Macan strikes a balance between performance and range. Its 100kWh battery delivers a class-leading WLTP range of 398 miles, making it the most travel-friendly Macan. Priced at £67,200, it undercuts the Macan 4S, which starts at £75,400. The Macan 4S sits between the previous Macan 4 and the top-of-the-line Turbo, offering a powerful combination of motors and battery for a thrilling driving experience.

Performance on Demand

The base Macan utilizes a single rear-mounted electric motor producing 335bhp, with temporary boosts up to 355bhp using the Sports Chrono package. This translates to a 0-62mph time of 5.7 seconds. The Macan 4S packs a punch with its dual-motor setup, generating 442bhp and up to 509bhp on overboost. It conquers the 0-62mph sprint in a mere 4.1 seconds and achieves a top speed of 149mph.

Ultra-Fast Charging Capability

Both models benefit from Porsche’s advanced 800V architecture, supporting rapid DC fast-charging at up to 270kW. This translates to a 10-80% charge in just 21 minutes, perfect for long journeys or short detours.

Striking Design and Tech-Centric Interior

The new Macan models echo design cues from the Taycan, featuring the signature rectangular headlights and a wraparound LED taillight bar. The aerodynamic body offers ample interior space with a length of 4784mm, width of 1938mm, and height of 1622mm. The wheelbase measures 2893mm.

Inside, the Macan boasts a modern, driver-focused cabin with a suite of digital displays, including a curved 12.6-inch instrument cluster and a 10.9-inch infotainment touchscreen. An optional passenger display measuring 10.9-inches further enhances the in-car experience. The Android Automotive infotainment system features voice assistant functionality with “Hey Porsche” and access to the new Porsche App Centre.

Enhanced Off-Road Capability

Porsche introduces a new optional off-road design package for all Macan models. This package equips the car with a front bumper for increased approach angle and raises the ride height by 10mm to 195mm with air suspension. Available in various colours, it equips the Macan for tackling rough terrain and steep inclines.

For those opting for the off-road package, Porsche offers a selection of 21-inch wheels, painted side blades, and roof rails in Black, Silver, or Turbonite (exclusive to the Turbo model). The package includes additional visual enhancements like diffuser panels and painted front bumper elements, making the Macan even more capable and adventurous.

Porsche’s commitment to performance extends to the Macan’s chassis dynamics. The Macan 4S boasts standard adaptive air suspension and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) for superior ride comfort and handling. Optional features like Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus (PTV Plus) and rear-axle steering further elevate performance, delivering agility and stability on any road.

Sustainable Power and Efficiency

The electric Macan is built on Porsche’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, co-developed with Audi, ensuring exceptional performance and efficiency. The 100kWh battery delivers impressive range and supports rapid DC charging, making it one of the most convenient electric SUVs to own.

Porsche’s dedication to sustainability is evident throughout the Macan. The aerodynamic design with a drag coefficient of 0.25 contributes to its efficiency, while the use of sustainable materials and advanced manufacturing processes underscore the brand’s commitment to environmental responsibility.

A Strong Contender in the Electric SUV Market

The introduction of these new Macan variants signifies a major step in Porsche’s electrification strategy. Aligned with its goal of 80% electric vehicle sales by 2030, the Macan is poised to compete fiercely in the growing electric SUV market, challenging rivals like the Jaguar I-Pace and Polestar 4.
